A 13-year-old Palestinian girl has been shot dead by an Israeli security guard, according to reports.
Israeli media claims that the girl approached the civilian guard while brandishing a knife, leading the guard to open fire.
The incident happened near the entrance to the West Bank settlement of Anatot.
Palestinian news agency Wafa has named the girl as Ruqayya Abu 'Eid from the Jerusalem village of Anata.
Israeli police have said that the girl had fought with members of her family before the incident, and stormed out of her house with the knife “intending to die".
Around 150 Palestinians have been killed since early since the latest outbreak of violence in October, with Israeli authorities having described a majority as assailants.
More than 20 Israelis have also been killed.
The violence has been driven by Palestinian anger over Israel's occupation of the West Bank and disputes over access to the Al Aqsa mosque compound in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Israel has blamed Palestinians for the outbreak of violence.
