Album sales of artists whose records were used in the Olympics Opening Ceremony have shot up since Friday.

Mike Oldfield – who performed the title track of his 1973 recording ‘Tubular Bells’ during the event – has seen a 757 per cent surge in sales.

Underworld, Dizzee Rascal and Paul McCartney have also seen sales of their albums increase
