Today

Dull in the north and northeast today with outbreaks of rain.

The rain will become fairly widespread and heavy at times through Ulster.

Some light patchy rain will affect north Connacht through the afternoon.

The rest of the country will be generally dry, except for a few passing showers, with the best of the sunshine across the south of the country.

Highs of 17 to 21 degrees, a little cooler under cloud in the north with light to moderate northwest breezes.

Tonight

Much the same this evening and into tonight with persistent and possibly heavy rain continuing in Ulster.

Elsewhere, it will stay largely dry with variable cloud and just isolated showers.

Lowest temperatures of 9 and 12 degrees in light to moderate west to northwest breezes.
