The Reform Alliance say they may become a political party in the future, but there are no plans for it at the moment.

More than 1,000 people attended the group's first conference yesterday at the RDS in Dublin, which was considered its first stepping stone towards becoming a party.

Senator Paul Bradford from the Alliance is not ruling out becoming an official political party in the next 6 or 12 months.

“Everybody knows there is a big appetite for change and for new politics out there. Whether new politics will require a new political party or not I am simply not sure. I simply, as part of this group of parliamentarians within the Dail and Seanad, want to try to ensure that we use our current political situation to the best advantage of the country, that we will not be simply, servant, silent, negative back benchers.”
