Storm Dennis is heading towards Ireland with strong winds and some coastal flooding expected.

A status orange wind warning will take effect in nine western counties at 10am this morning.

Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick will all be affected.

A yellow alert is in place for the rest of the country.

Caroline Flack has been described as a "beautiful person" with "infectious energy" following her death yesterday at the age of 40.

The TV presenter was found dead at her flat in London, after taking her own life.

Ant and Dec say they're "devastated", while her good friend, the writer Dawn O'Porter says she'll miss her laugh "every day forever".

Irish Love Island stars Maura Higgins and Laura Whitmore say it's "heartbreaking".

Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are preparing to put together a "grand coalition" in an effort to form a government.

It's reported the two parties will step up efforts this week to put together a deal involving the Greens.

According to a new Business Post/Red C poll, 26% of voters would favour such a coalition.

Another 26% want Sinn Féin to lead a government involving left-wing parties.

Gardaí are investigating a brawl after the Dublin Derby yesterday which left a man in his 40s hospitalised with head injuries.

The fight broke out on the Phibsboro Road near Dalymount Park after Bohemians hosted rival league side Shamrock Rovers.

Over 20 men were involved and Bohs have condemned what happened.

No arrests have been made and gardaí are asking witnesses to come forward.

China has announced another 142 people have died from the Coronavirus - bringing the death toll to over 1,600.

Most of the deaths were in the Hubei province - which has been on lockdown since the spread of the virus started.

There were 2,009 new cases in mainland China on Saturday, bringing its total to 68,500, according to the country's National Health Commission.
