Gardaí continue to question a man in connection to the death of Michael Gaine.
The Kerry farmer went missing in March and late in April Gardaí announced they were now treating his disappearance as a homicide investigation.
On Friday, human remains were discovered on Mr Gaine’s farm near Kenmare and a man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday.
He is aged in his 50s and has been detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in Kerry.
On Newstalk Breakfast, The Kerryman journalist Sinead Kelleher said Gardaí have 24 hours to question him.
“We would expect some update in this regard later this afternoon,” she said.

While Mr Gaine’s farm was searched after his disappearance, Gardaí have now returned for further investigation.
“These human remains were found while friends of Mr Gaine’s were spreading slurry,” Ms Kelleher said.
“Searches have now been ongoing at the farm prompted by the discovery on Friday afternoon.
“The focus on these searches throughout the weekend in the very hot weather have been focused on the yard and the slurry tank in the shed.
“These were also searched earlier in the beginning of the investigation but now Gardaí are concentrating on these areas again as they search for further material.”

Gardaí have said they continue to support Mr Gaine’s family through a Family Liaison Officer, who have asked for privacy at this time.
“There were emotional scenes at the farm yesterday as these remains were moved from the farm of Mr Gaine,” she said.
“Family and friends lined the road at the farm as the remains were removed - a very sad moment for the town of Kenmare.”
Anyone with any information has been asked to contact Killarney Garda Station.
