Independent TD Mattie McGrath put the name “twatters” on a number of Government Ministers over their tweets.
He's criticised Health Minister Leo Varadkar and Junior Minister Aodhán O'Riordáin over their tweets to do with the free GP care for under 6's and the issue of abortion.
Mattie McGrath asks a q about the Broadcasting Regulation Bill to tackle "these twatters" (those who tweet often - named @AodhanORiordain )

On the order of business he called for the Taoiseach to use the Broadcasting Amendment Bill to reign in his ministers:
Mr McGrath said: “Social media is an excellent tool for communicating about ideas and events; but when it is being increasingly used by Senior Ministers to communicate vitriolic and patronising messages then questions need to be asked.”
He added: “Minister Ó Ríordáin on the other hand is making an art form of sending out vicious and false characterisations of the hundreds of thousands of pro-life people in this Country.
“As the so called Minister for with special responsibility for Equality, New Communities and Culture, he has displayed a remarkable ability to offend all three categories in one go.
What possible confidence could any pro-life person have in attempting to communicate with Minister Ó Ríordáin when he characterises their views as the product of extreme right wing scaremongering.”
