Man’s best friend, the humble canine, has long had a reputation for jumping to our aid when fire or other calamities threaten our safety. But a new social-media fad in Japan that’s going viral suggests that those ungrateful four-legged fiends couldn’t care less when their owner suddenly faints.
According to Buzzfeed, there is now a legitimate trend of dog owners filming their dog’s reaction to their sudden fainting spell, with many of the carefree canines strolling on, indifferent to their owner’s plight.
When it comes to the dogs, some are confused, some entirely nonplussed, or use the collapse as a chance to make a break fro freedom:
