A man in his twenties will appear in court in Portlaoise this morning charged over a major seizure of drugs and guns on Friday.

Detectives found 10-thousand euro worth of cannabis as well as two sawn-off shotguns and a handgun during searches of an apartment in Portarlington.

A man, who was arrested at the scene, was last night charged by Gardaí.

He'll appear at Portlaoise District Court at 10 o'clock this morning.
