The London Underground service began their new 'Night Tube' operations after midnight last night, and one of its first passengers had an alternate motive to his travels.

Dave Lowering set up a JustGiving.com charity page, in which he described his plan:

"With the start of the Night Tube on London Underground on Friday 19th August 2016, I am aiming to be one of the first members of the public to spend 24 hours in the London Underground network; without exiting the ticket gates!

"For my 24 hours of madness I am attempting to raise £200.00 for The Samaritans."

And he followed through, attempting to live-tweet his travels wherever a decent internet connection would allow...

At the time of publishing, his charity page had reached 48% of its target.
