Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a hit and run in Waterford City left a man seriously injured. 

At 11.45 this morning, the man was hit by a car at the junction of The Glen and Ballybricken.

The car drove off and the man was taken to Cork University Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

The Glen and Ballybricken roads remain closed and the Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have been called.

Gardaí have asked any drivers or pedestrians in the area between 11am and midday who noticed any “unusual activity” to contact them.
