A man is due in court this morning in connection with the murder of a man in Co Kilkenny in 2006.

The man, who is in his 30s, is due before Carlow District Court over the death of 44-year-old Gerry Nolan.

Mr Nolan died after a fire in a mobile home in Deerpark, near Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny, on July 24th 2006.

Following a review of the case in 2014, gardaí launched a murder investigation into Mr Nolan's death.

While there have been a number of arrests in the past, today will be the first time someone has appeared in court in connection with this case.
