A 19 year old man has died in a car crash in Galway.

It happened on the Inagh Road in Connemara at around 2 o'clock this morning.

The man died - when the car in which he was a passenger in - left the road.

Five others who were also in the car were taken to University College Hospital in Galway - but their injuires are not believed to be life threatening.

The road is currently closed while Gardaí carry out a technical examination of the scene. They're appealing for witnesses to contact Clifden Garda Station on 095-22500, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
