A man in his 20s has died following a crash on the N7 Naas Road in Dublin overnight. 

The crash happened shortly after 12am last night.

The man was getting out of a parked car when he was hit by a second car.

A man in his 20s has been arrested and currently detained at a Garda Station in South Dublin.

The driver of the first car, a man in his 20s, and a passenger from the other car, also a man in his 20s, were taken to Tallaght and St James hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The road was temporarily closed for examination but has since been reopened. 

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.      

They are particularly interested in talking to anyone who was in the area and may have dashcam footage.
