A man has died after a fall in the Dartry Mountains in County Sligo yesterday evening.
It is believed the man, aged in his 60s and from the Galway area, suffered a serious head injury after falling around 20 metres near the Devil’s Chimney waterfall in Glencar.
A team of ten people from Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue responded and located the man.

They removed him from the water in challenging conditions and performed CPR; however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí and the Rescue 118 Coast guard helicopter were also involved in the rescue attempt.
