A man arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Carlow has been released without charge.

He was detained following the death of 46-year-old father of one Murt Brennan in the town on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim had received a number of stab wounds in the incident at a house on Frederick Avenue.

A man was arrested on Wednesday. He has since been released without charge and a file is to be sent to the DPP
