An investigation is underway after the dicovery of a handgun in a van in Dublin city this afternoon.
Gardaí involved in a traffic stop detained the man after the dsicovery of the weapon.
The man is being held at Pearse Street Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
