A man accused of murdering his landlord in Castleknock earlier this month is still not well enough to come in court.

Italian native Saverio Bellante is being treated at the Central Mental Hospital after being charged with the murder of Tom O'Gorman.

Mr. O'Gorman was found dead in his house in the early hours of January 12th. A post mortem revealed he had been beaten and stabbed to death.

Mr. Bellante (34) is originally from Palermo and rented a room at Mr. O'Gorman's house. He was arrested and charged with his murder.

After being medically assessed in custody, he was admitted to the Central Mental Hospital shortly after his first court appearance.

Two weeks ago his solicitor handed in a letter from Mr. Bellante's doctor outlining why he felt his patient was not well enough to attend court.

His case was up for mention again today - but the court was told the accused is still not fit to appear in person.

In his absence, he was further remanded until the end of next month.
