A 38-year-old man is due in court today after being arrested in connection with a burglary in Ashbourne, Co Meath.

A woman arrived home in the Robertstown area at around 4.30pm yesterday and saw a man in her house.

She fled and contacted gardaí.

A man was arrested nearby and taken to Ashbourne Garda Station.

A car which gardai believe was used in the burglary was seized - and a quantity of property was recovered.

The man was detained at Ashbourne Garda Station under the Provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The man is due to appear before Navan District Court this morning.
