A star of Love/Hate says the crime series will not be returning to our screens.
Laurence Kinlan, who played Elmo in the show, says: "I don't even think about Love/Hate now, because when I filmed the last day, I knew that was the end of it".
He told the Irish Daily Mail that the show is not on creator Stuart Carolan's radar anymore.
There has been much speculation about its future and a possible spin-off - but Kinlan says: "I'd like to leave it at that".
Last November, RTÉ had said: "Love/Hate will not return to screens in 2015. A sixth series is currently in development with the writer and creator Stuart Carolan and Octagon Films".
A spokesperson added: "The producers and Stuart feel it's important to take time and reflect before going to production with a sixth season".
More than one million people are said to have tuned in to see the season finale, which saw the main character - Nidge - getting gunned down in his back garden.
But the show has been streaming across Europe, after it secured a deal with Netflix suppliers.
It has been streamed on the service in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
