A County Limerick store that has sold their second-ever multi-million-euro lotto ticket has said it’s a “lovely advertisement” for their business.
G O Stores in Garryowen first made headlines in 2005 when they sold a €115 million EuroMillions ticket to Dolores McNamara.
It was the highest lotto win in the history of the State at the time and is the third-highest to this day.
History has now repeated itself for G O Stores who sold last Saturday’s National Lottery jackpot ticket valued at €8.9m euros.

“It’s mighty news, there’s a lot of excitement here now,” he said.
“Everyone’s in mighty humour, we’ve had dancing, balloons, bubbles and it’s brought great footfall to the shop.”

At the moment, Mr Brosnan said he has “no idea who won it or what day the ticket was sold”.
“I think when the winner comes forward, we might get more information,” he said.
“It’s been 19 years since Dolores won and everyone knew who won it then – this time we don’t know.
“It’s been a lovely advertisement for us”.
The current record for a lotto win in Ireland was a €175.4m EuroMillions jackpot that went to a family syndicate from Dublin in 2019.
