This morning on Breakfast, the topic of racism was discussed off the back of a proposal that GAA referees could soon have the power to issue red cards for racism offences.

A motion is being raised at next month's GAA Congress calling for racist abuse to be upgraded to the bracket of 'aggressive fouls'.

While Tommy Carr, Westmeath minor manager says he firmly supports the motion, he also said that some foreign players are “oversensitive”.

One listener got in touch with the show to say that, “describing a person who is black or white or even describing a person with red hair is not racist.”

What do you think? When is it ok to describe a person by the colour of their skin?
