The Irish Coast Guard has rescued two young rowers after their boat overturned in the Atlantic.
The Irish and Canadian men were around 165 nautical miles south west of Cork's Mizen head when the incident happened.
It is believed they had been attempting to row across the Atlantic, after recently leaving Canada.
They raised the alarm this afternoon and were airlifted to safety by the Rescue 117 Helicopter from Waterford.
They are now being transferred to Tralee Hospital.
Gerard O'Flynn from the Irish Coast Guard explained: “It highlights that if you can raise the alarm and stay afloat then you stand a very good chance of being rescued.
"I also want to compliment the Helicopter crew and Valentia on a very successful operation and thank the Air Corps for their support.”
He added: "[The casualties] are believed to be in good spirits, but they're obviously a little bit shook after their ordeal."
