An investigation is underway into the alleged assault of a garda in Co Roscommon.

It happened at around 1am this morning at Roselawn, Castlerea.

Two men - aged in their late 30s and 60s - are alleged to have assaulted a member of the force.

The male garda and the suspects were all taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Gardaí say their investigations are ongoing.
