An Army Bomb disposal team were called out today to investigate a "substance of concern" in Dublin.

The Defence Forces deployed the team to Churchtown following the discovery of the substance.

It is believed to involve chemicals rather than an explosive device.

Homes around the the Weston Road area of the city were evacuated for a time today

This evening the Army removed two of the substances which will now be further examined and possibly destroyed.

The area is not longer sealed off.
