Gardaí have begun a search and excavation in Co Donegal as part of an investigation into the disappearance of a woman ten years ago.
46-year-old Deirdre O’Flaherty from Ballymagarry, Strabane in Co Tyrone was reported missing on the 11th January 2009 at Moville, Co Donegal.
She went missing from her holiday home in the town.
As part of the investigation into the 46-year-old's disappearance, a search and excavation is now taking place in the Milford area.
Gardaí say they're working closely with the family, and a family liaison officer has been appointed.
Members of the Donegal Divisional Search Team and Garda Technical Bureau are conducting the search, along with private contractors.
It's expected to last up to five days.
In a statement, gardaí said: "This development continues to form part of a Missing Person investigation and there is no change of status regarding same.
"An update will be provided when the search is completed."
