Gardaí are investigating whether a man who was found with burn injuries in Dundalk yesterday evening was the victim of an acid attack.
The man, aged in his 30s, recieved minor burns to his body and clothing on Hoey's Lane in the town at around 8:45pm yesterday evening.
He was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where his injuries are described as non-life threatening.
Gardaí in Dundalk are now investigating whether a corrosive substance was thrown at the man.
The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination and the Garda investigation is continuing.
