Gardaí are investigating an alleged sexual assault on an elderly woman in Ennis, Co. Clare last week.

It's reported the attack happened at around 11.30pm last Thursday.

A man in his 50s was arrested in connection with the investigation, but was later released without charge.

A file is being prepared for the DPP.
