Gardaí in Cork are investigating the death of a Brazilian man found in a flat in Fermoy at around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.

The body of the 51-year-old was removed from the flat on Emmet Street and taken to Cork University Hospital.

A post-mortem examination will take place at the hospital today.

It is understood a knife has been recovered from the scene which has been sent for a technical examination.
