An investigation is underway after three cars were damaged in a suspected arson attack in County Louth.
One of the cars was damaged at a house in Knockbridge, Dundalk in the early hours of this morning.
Two other cars were also damaged in the process.
It is believed the cars belong to off-duty gardaí.
Gardaí said no one was injured in the attacks.
Local TD Declan Breathnach told Newstalk that alleged attack appears to have been an intimidation tactic.
“The incident clearly was an attempt to intimidate An Garda Síochána and their families,” he said.
“We all know that in this country, 99% of people are decent law-abiding citizens.
“The individuals who are responsible for this type of attack, clearly, are trying to intimidate families and I want to condemn it.”
The Garda investigation is ongoing.
