A man has been arrested after gardaí stopped a car in Co. Kildare last night and seized a handgun and ammunition.
The vehicle was stopped and searched on the Naas road near Kill yesterday evening, as part of a planned operation, by gardaí from the Organise Crime Unit, supported by local gardaí.
The driver of the car, who is 29, was detained and taken to Clondalkin garda station for questioning.

He is being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
