Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a two-car collision in Co Kilkenny claimed the life of a woman in her 60s.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Carrigunura, Slieverua at around 7.45pm last night.
Two cars had crashed on the main New Ross to Waterford Road.
A 61-year-old woman - the driver of one of the cars - was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the second car suffered minor injuries.
A post-mortem will be conducted on the woman's remains later at Waterford University Hospital.
The road is expected to remain closed until midday to allow a forensic examination of the scene take place.
