There are conflicting reports on the whereabouts of Fungi after the dolphin was reported missing.
The world-famous dolphin had not been seen in over two days, but a local fisherman is reported to have seen him on Thursday.
Several boats were sent out on Friday morning to check the area.
Fungi has been living in Dingle Bay for around 37 years but he is believed to be over 40 years old.
Captain Jimmy Flannery is from Dingle Dolphin Tours.
He told Newstalk Breakfast there is hope that Fungi is just quiet.
"We got contacted then by the fisherman straight away - a local fisherman contacted us saying he had seen Fungi yesterday morning.
"And one of the other boats that were out yesterday evening got a glimpse of Fungi as well."
"It hasn't been confirmed by our own boats, but it has been confirmed by local fishermen".
"Fungi goes off from time to time, at the moment he is a little bit quiet - but you see it's funny old times".
"Everything is a bit off, and he's not as active."
"We've seen everything come and go, this is a little bit unusual for him but it's not something that he hasn't done before".
