Last week the French ambassador to the Republic of Ireland said it's critically important that Ireland retains strong trade links with France in a post-Brexit Europe.
The trip was arranged before last week's terror attack in Nice, and it's now likely that security issues will be a big topic of discussion.

During his one day visit he will also meet with President Michael D Higgins at his home in the Aras.
After his meetings here Hollande will return to Paris to discuss Brexit with the new British Prime Minister.
It's the first time Theresa May will hold discussions with the French President following her appointment last week.
