Frances and Patrick Connolly from Northern Ireland have been named as the winners of the €130 million Euromillions jackpot.

The couple came forward to claim the New Year’s Day jackpot earlier this week.

It means they will start the year just under £115m richer, and they're also the fourth biggest the UK National Lottery winners ever.

The identity of the winners - who are currently living in Moira, Co Down - was revealed during a press conference in Belfast this morning.

Speaking about the moment they found out about their win, Frances explained: "All the conversations about 'what you would do if...' went out the window.

"We sat staring at each other for ten minutes. We literally said nothing... I don't think we believe it yet."

She added that they've made a list of around 50 people they're going to share their jackpot with.

"It's going to be so much fun... the pleasure for me is going to see their faces and asking them what they want us to do for them," she added.

Speaking about their own futures, Patrick says he's "retired for now" but is likely to look into getting involved in business.

Frances said she's hoping to help out in the charity sector as well as continuing her studies (including a possible PhD).
