Footage examined after alleged Limerick racist incident

Officials are examining CCTV footage at Thomond Park after allegations that a banana was thrown on the pitch during a match on Sunday night.

French international player Gael Clichy drew attention to the alleged incident through his Twitter account after a friendly fixture between his club Manchester City and Limerick FC.

It has sparked a furious reaction amongst locals in Limerick.

Ken McHugh is the International Officer with Sport Against Racism Ireland.

He told Breakfast here on Newstalk it is unclear what steps can be taken now.
