Man shot dead by police following 'terrorist-related' incident in London

A man has been shot dead by police in London after two people were stabbed in what has been described as a "terrorist-related" incident.

Metropolitan Police said that a number of people were stabbed in the incident which occurred at around 2.00pm on Sunday afternoon.

They have since confirmed that two people are believed to be injured.

'All to play for' in General Election despite polls, says Leo Varadkar

The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has insisted that it is still "all to play for" in next week's General Election.

His comments come as a new opinion poll shows that Fine Gael has dropped to third place, commanding support from 21% of voters.

The Business Post/Red C survey of 1,000 people revealed that Sinn Féin and Fianna Fáil are neck and neck on 24% apiece.

Passengers on board a flight from Moscow say they were kept on the plane for two hours whilst medics in hazmat suits took the man off the aircraft.

The HSE say they have "protocol in place" to activate any plan at ports of entry into Ireland.

Brexit: Boris Johnson expected to push for Canada-style trade deal

The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to announce plans to push for a Canada-style agreement as he reveals his demands for a post-Brexit trade deal with the EU.

This would mean that most tariffs on goods traded between the UK and the EU would be scrapped.

But the prime minister will suggest if that does not fly then he will not give concessions to win greater market access and instead pursue a more limited Australia-style deal instead.

Arab League backs Palestinian Authority and rejects Trump's peace plan

The Arab League has rejected Donald Trump's Middle East peace plan - saying it will not cooperate with the US in any efforts to implement it.

It comes only days after the controversial plan was unveiled by the US president and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas joined other members of the Arab League at an emergency meeting in Cairo today in the wake of the plan's announcement earlier this week.
