The 27-year-old mother of two, Antoinette Smith went missing on Dublin’s O’Connell Street after attending a David Bowie concert in Slane on July 12th 1987.

Nine months later her body was found in a remote location at Glendoo Mountain in Enniskerry in Co. Wicklow.

Today marks the 32nd anniversary of her disappearance.

The family of the Dublin woman say they believe her killing was carried out by someone she knew.

Antoinette’s daughter Rachel remains confident her mother knew her killer:

"I think the person is known to her. There's no way in her right mind would she be willing to go up to the Wicklow mountains that time. I strongly think that she knew her attacker. It could be a family member, it could be a neighbour, it could be a friend.

"Things could have escalated and things could have gotten out of hand on a night out, drinking or whatever and  things didn't go to plan. Something like that."

The murder investigation remains live and Gardaí are renewing their appeal for information.

They can contact the Garda Confidential Line at 1800-666-111, Crimestoppers on 1800-250-025 or the Gardaí's Serious Crime Review Team at 01-666-3444.
