A former member of the Irish Air Corps has drowned while deep sea-diving off the coast of Norway. 

Daniel O'Brien was 33-years-old and from Graigenamanagh in County Kilkenny.

Mr O’Brien is survived by his parents, brothers Tommy and Ciaran, partner Ingvill, grandmother Brigid and other family members.

The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed they have been notified and are ready to provide consular assistance if needed.

Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.
