Investigations underway after school bus crash in Co Cork

Separate investigations are underway into the causes of a school bus crash in Co Cork that left three children injured.

Bus Éireann, which sub-contracted the bus, says it is investigating whether the heavy rain played a part in the accident.

Three pupils were taken to Cork University Hospital, with non life threatening injuries, after the incident in a rural area at Cregg South on the Ballyhooley to Fermoy road shortly after 8.00am this morning.

Burton confirms plans for increase in the Christmas bonus

The Tánaiste and Social Protection Minister Joan Burton has revealed plans for an increase in the Christmas bonus for social welfare recipients and pensioners.

Ms Burton says while they have limited funds, this is a priority. She has also denied it is a push for votes.

McCauley's, which is headquartered in Wexford, operates close to 30 pharmacy shops principally south east of a line drawn from Dublin to Kerry.
