'This has never been an Orange and Green issue' - Arlene Foster rejects Michelle O'Neill apology

The First Minister of Northern Ireland Arlene Foster has rejected an apology from Deputy First Minister Michelle O'Neill over potential breaches of coronavirus regulations there.

Large crowds lined the streets for Bobby Storey’s funeral in Belfast earlier this week.

Hundreds of people failed to observe social distancing after the funeral of 64-year-old former IRA member.

COVID-19: Two further deaths and nine more cases

Two more people with COVID-19 have died and there are nine additional cases, the latest figures show.

There has now been a total of 1,740 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland and 25,498 confirmed cases of the virus.

Dr Ronan Glynn, Acting Chief Medical Officer, said: "Ireland’s 14 day incidence of COVID-19 is now less than three cases per 100,000."

Ireland 'caught between EU and UK policies' over COVID-19 travel

A travel expert says Ireland is caught between European Union and British travel policies in relation to COVID-19.

The Government’s Cabinet committee on COVID-19 has been discussing international travel in relation to the coronavirus.

This was the main item on its agenda as it met on Friday.

Gardaí to conduct spot-checks on pubs for compliance with public health guidelines

Gardaí are to conduct checks of pubs and other licenced premises to ensure they are adhering to public health guidelines.

This follows concerns from Government’s Cabinet Committee on COVID-19, Garda management and the public that some premises and their customers have not been adhering to the guidelines.

Beginning this weekend, An Garda Síochána will conduct checks of licenced premises nationwide in relation to adherence to the public health guidelines.

'They didn't bother their arse to show up' - Dublin restaurateur hits out at no-shows

Michelin Star chef Oliver Dunne has hit out at people who are not showing up at restaurants, despite having reservations.

He re-opened his Bon Appetit restaurant in Dublin on Wednesday.

But he told The Hard Shoulder they have had several people who simply do not show.
