Government Junior Ministries: Who's in and who's out?

There has been further unrest in political circles, with a number of politicians unhappy at being snubbed for junior ministries.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin made the appointments throughout the day on Wednesday.

The Fianna Fáil appointments sought to address some of the regional imbalance of Cabinet.

COVID-19: Three further deaths and six new cases

Three more people have died as a result of COVID-19.

New figures also show that there are six additional cases of the virus.

There has now been a total of 1,738 COVID-19 related deaths here, and 25,477 confirmed cases.

Doherty says Sinn Féin did all it could to follow COVID-19 guidelines at funeral

Sinn Féin has said it did everything it could to maintain social distancing at the funeral of senior republican Bobby Storey yesterday.

Senior party members, including Mary Lou McDonald, Michelle O’Neill and Pearse Doherty took part in the 64-year-old former IRA member’s funeral yesterday.

Hundreds of people failed to observe social distancing as they lined the streets in west Belfast; however, the party has dismissed criticism as “political point scoring.”

Family of Brian Cowen hope to have him home 'in six weeks or so'

The brother of former Taoiseach Brian Cowen says their family hopes to have him home in the next few weeks.

He has been recovering since a suspected bleed on the brain last July.

He was also treated for fluid on a lung last April, having become unwell at a golf event.

Bar owner and drag performer Rory O' Neill, aka Panti Bliss, says there are 'real people' behind the bar industry.

She owns two bars in Dublin city, including her namesake 'Panti Bar'.

She told The Hard Shoulder those hitting out at calls for bars to re-open should think twice.
