Wexford General Hospital apologies for 13 undetected cancer cases
Wexford General Hospital (WGH) has apologised, after 13 cancer cases went undetected.
In October 2014, WGH identified two cancer cases in patients who had recently undergone a colonoscopy - but were not diagnosed.
It conducted an immediate review of colonoscopies under the care of an individual consultant at the hospital.
Department of Agriculture confirms case of BSE in Galway cow
The Department of Agriculture has confirmed a case of 'Atypical BSE' in an 18-year-old cow.
It was identified through surveillance of 'fallen' animals, who died on a farm in Galway.
The animal tested positive on a screening carried out at a department-approved, private laboratory over the weekend.
"Nothing short of scandalous" - Union hits out at Bus Éireann pay proposals
The National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU) has described Bus Éireann's proposed changes to pay & conditions for staff as "nothing short of scandalous" and "stomach-churning".
In a letter to unions, the company said it "will go out of business" without major changes, including restructuring.
The company is calling on staff to "accept redeployment and reasonable changes to roles and responsibilities" to facilitate restructuring.

Essentially, the man who scored that volley in the Euro 88 final against USSR as Netherlands won their first and only senior international trophy, was named FIFA Chief Officer for Technical Development by world football's governing body.
Officially according to FIFA, his role encompasses "heading up all technical areas ranging from football technology innovation to refereeing".
'Tech-forward' Aloft Hotel lands in Dublin's Liberties early next year
Marriott International has confirmed that it will soon be bringing boutique hotel brand Starwood Aloft to Irish shores.
Aloft Dublin City is scheduled to open in Spring 2018 in the Liberties area of Ireland's capital, through a franchise agreement with Blackpitts Hospitality.
