The AA says the north side of the Dublin Port Tunnel was closed earlier to rescue a kitten.

It is not known how the young cat got into the tunnel.

But it seemed to be a very quick operation, with the tunnel entrance re-opening just minutes after it shut.

AA Roadwatch say motorway services have since removed the kitten from the area.

A perrrfect ending, it seems...
