A dog has got a lucky start to the year, after he was rescued from a burning house.

The Dublin Fire Brigade say Toby was rescued from the property on Friday night.

The scene was attended by crew from Rathfarnham Fire Station.

The dog even posed with firefighters Jamie and Gary after the operation.

The fire service tweeted that Toby was "delighted to paws" for the photo.
