A man in his 30s has died in a car crash in County Offaly.

The crash took place just after 11pm yesterday on the L1005 at Bracknagh near Clonbologue.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and has been removed to Tullamore Hospital, where a post-mortem exam will be carried out.

No one else was involved in the crash.

Gardaí are to examine the crash scene this morning and local diversions are in place.
