A man in his 60s has died after crashing into a pole in County Wexford.

The accident happened at Duffry Gate on the Enniscorthy to Kiltealy road shortly after 7am this morning.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and was taken to Waterford University Hospital where a postmortem will take place.

He was the only person in the car, and no one else was injured.

The road is currently closed for a forensic examination.

It is expected to remain closed for the rest of the morning.
