Daniel O'Donnell has responded to criticism of his participation on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

The Donegal singer was the eighth celebrity to be revealed for the new series by the BBC.

Daniel has joined Jeremy Vine, Ainsley Harriott, Jamelia, Anthony Ogogo, Katie Derham, Peter Andre and others on the dancefloor.

But 'The Apprentice' star Katie Hopkins has hit out at Daniel, calling him an "Irish contraceptive".

She tweeted this message:

But speaking on the Shaun Doherty Show on Highland Radio, Daniel had this to say.
