12,875 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Ireland today.

That breaks down as 6,061 PCR-confirmed cases, along with 6,814 positive antigen test results registered on the HSE portal.

The five-day moving average of new cases has now risen above 10,000 again, and now stands at 10,595.

However, the number of COVID-19 patients in hospital has continued to fall.

There were 610 patients with COVID-19 in Irish hospitals this morning - down from 630 yesterday.

The number of patients in ICU has also fallen slightly, down from 65 yesterday to 63 today.
