A survivor of the Cork air crash in which six people were killed three years ago has told an inquest how she thought she would be burned alive.

Heather Eliot is one of five survivors whose story was heard this morning at the opening of the inquest into the six deaths.

The Manx airline plane crashed on the runway at Cork Airport after three aborted attempts at landing in dense fog on February 10th in 2011.

Survivors have also praised the speed and efficiency of the rescue operation by emergency services at Cork Airport.

Barry Roche is Southern Correspondent with the Irish Times and was in court to hear the testimony.
